I was sure when I first took this picture and started the whole pose with your toaster movement I would be come some level of internet famous for it. The internet fame never came. I never got interviewed by any one about how it came up. I never got to tell my story about how unexpected it all way.
Now I am not even sure people would get the gag. That is what happens when you try to make fun of an advertisement. The joke only lasts as long as the ad stays in rotation.
All I have now is just this picture to look at. Maybe it is for the best.
There is a limit to the number of characters that can be used with the Blogger 'Label' system. I forget the limit, but I have run into in on some of my lists. When I run into that limit I use the tag 'Tag Overload'. I wonder how many other people use meta-tags. I wonder how many other systems have tag limits.
One of the interesting things it me is how tags do not have standards. I had to come up with tag overload on my own. I had no guidelines or standards to rely on. Everyone is making things up for themselves. I know this is one of the points of tags. We want to decentralize information. In the long run the most powerful meme will become the standard.
I wonder how we will look back at tags in five years. Will they change the world or will we look back at them and wonder what we were thinking? I know that for some people tags have change the way they think about information. One of the key ideas about tags is that they do not fit into one category, but many categories.
1. Where were you born? Abington, PA, but I never lived there. I grew up in Warminster, PA. Both townships are suburbs of Philadelphia.
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? I on longer live near Warminster. I would think about moving back to Philadelphia, but I do not think I am ready yet. I would love to be closer to my family. There are things about Philadelphia that I still love. I am not sure I am ready to move back yet.
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? I think I provide most of my own treats to my safety. I think I feel safe most places I go.
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? I feel well traveled inside the US and poorly traveled outside. I have done all my traveling here. I keep on telling myself that I have to go overseas.
5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? Mt. St. Helens, Washington. It is unlike any other place in the world. It is a place of such beauty. You know that it was created by such force. I like that feeling.
1.) What is the most important thing going on in your life this week? Work, like most weeks. I have no big plans so work becomes the default focus.
2.) Tell us about your quintessential faux pas. Talking too much and trying to impress people. I back myself into a corner because I am trying to be witty or smart. I usually end up with my foot in my mouth.
3.) Why would you most likely be nominated to speak your mind, and what is it you're going to say? I would be nominated to speak my mind because people think I have something to say. Sad Salvation is me trying to collect my ideas. I would say whatever is on my mind. I hold so many opinions, it is hard to say which one would come out of my mouth.
1) Sonic Youth - Teenage Riot 2) Clash - London Calling 3) Call - Let The Day Begin 4) Pete Townshend - Crashing By Design 5) Katrina & The Waves - Walking On Sunshine
You can either post you Top Five in my comment area or link to your weblog.
1.) Yes conflicting theories abound, what do you think dreams (nightly adventures) mean, or do you subscribe to a particular theorist and why? I think that dreams are wide brush ideas. If I have one dream where I am killed I do not think it really means that much. If I keep on having dreams where I am killed, it might mean something. I think that we need to look at the themes of dreams and not the actions. I can describe a dream very well not never express how it made me feel. I think we have to look at the way our dreams make us feel.
2.) When you are confronted by a homeless person asking for change, how do you respond? How does it make you feel? If you've never been in this situation, imagine it, and calculate your response. I never feel good no matter what I do. I live in a neighborhood with a fair number of homeless people. I know if I give homeless people change, it does nothing to help their situation. Most likely I am prolonging their time on the street. If you give homeless people money, there is a chance that spot will be known as a good place to panhandle. If that happens you will have more people there. On the other hand I feel that I should be doing more for them. I ask myself "what would Jesus think of me at this moment?" The last time I gave anyone money is when I was in Portland on Easter night. I know she spent the money on dinner.
3.) Do you feel you have been short changed in any way by destiny/fate/God? If so, how? I do not feel short changed. I do feel sad that I do not feel a deep relationship with God in my heart.
1. ...sent a handwritten letter? From time to time I will handwrite a letter to my father. It has been a while since I have done that.
2. ...baked something from scratch or made something by hand? I am not the baking type and I am not a crafty person. In college I made an electronics kit by hand. It did not work very well. I have to go back that far.
3. ...camped in a tent? Fall 1991...We went camping because we could underage drink there.
4. ...volunteered your time to church, school, or community? I cannot remember.
5. ...helped a stranger? I bought a woman I did not know Easter dinner. The same week I bought lunch for a woman who had lost her wallet.
As usual I am taking part of the fun provided by smattering.org.

My friend Jeremy asked a group of us to come up with a list of a hundred things that we are thankful for. Going back to high school Jeremy started lists of 100 Favorite Things. It is something that we have been doing ever since.
Jeremy asked us to make a list of the 100 Things we are most thankful for. I see my Favorite things and my Thankful things to be two different lists. Jeremy does not see it that way. I do not want to be trivial about thinks that I am thankful for. I think there is a problem with people who thank God for ever little thing. I am seeing that the same way. The 100 Favorite Things list will have to come later.
Here is the list of things I am thankful for:
Family, My Job, Friends, worldwide communication, place to live, my mind, my health, sense of humor, the time I am living in, people that care about me, my comptuer, the people I work with, chances I have, my view of the world, my sense of the world, laughter, my car, Enjoying the company I work for, living in America, my background, the Bill of Rights, Coast to Coast air travel, My Parents, Being Missed by my friends, my life to this point,
