Hall of Lame

The Sex Pistols tell the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame "Your not paying attention" (sic). I am very happy to read this. The Sex Pistols show us that they are still punk at heart. There is no real punk that would be caught dead in a hall of fame.

I think the Rock N' Roll hall of Fame is just stupid. I do not think it is a great way to measure music. I am happy to see the Sex Pistols also think it is worthless.

I am a lazy writer

I wish I was not a lazy writer. I keep on coming ups with ideas of things to write about. The ideas make me think that I have something really good to say about the topic. I think that I can tap into some great incite. Most of the time my writing falls short because I am lazy. I take the easy way out because I want to get my blog published. Instead of working harder and getting my ideas written, I just lower the bar and write less.

I know part of the problem is that I want to get things into my blog quickly. I know I should not use this as an excuse. I just wish I had more focus and drive. I will spent hours watching TV, but it is harder to spend hours writing. When I am using my computer it is easy to get distracted by Flickr, e-mail, or iTunes.

I also know that this happens because I feel that I am not a good writer. I think that my mind is far beyond my ability to share the ideas in it. I am thinking of so many things, but writing is harder than thinking. I am happy to talk about my ideas. If the other person in the conversation does not know what is going on, I know what gaps I need to fill in. That is harder to figure out with writing.

If I did not have to work for a living, I think I would spend four hours a day blogging. That way I know that I would have the right amount of time to spend writing each post. Until my number comes up in the lottery, I have little chance of that happening. Right now I have to figure out how to spend the same amount of time writing and getting to what I really want to write all at the same time. I think this can be done, but I am not sure the right way to do this.

K List Bloggers

If Thomas Hawk is a C-List blogger with a Technorati Rank: 529.

That means Sad Salvation is a K-list blog Technorati Rank: 280,579. You can look at the list I made.

The Blog-Letter-List

A List - 100
B List - 250
C List - 550
D List - 1000
E List - 2000
F List - 5000
G List - 10000
H List - 50000
I List - 100000
J List - 200000
K List - 500000
L List - 1000000
M List - 2000000
N List - 5000000

I will take the lable of a K-list blogger. I expect to only fall further on this list. I can remember when I was an H-list blogger. By the end of 2006 I expect to be a N-list blogger.

Never to be seen again

I called the San Francisco Police Department Taxi Detail. There has been no report of my bag being found. I had a stack of business cards in the bag. If it was found I hope someone would call the number on the card.

Ever since I lost my bag I had the hope that it would turn up. There was a part of me that thought I would call up the police and they would have a listing for the bag being found. Now I have to come to terms that the bag will not turn up. I know this sounds silly, but it has turned into a big thing. I feel dumb for losing the bag. I guess I just want to feel a little less dumb.

The Break-up List

Peter and I were talking about bands that broke up and got back together for another tour. That inspired me to make my list of the best bands to never reunite.

Best Bands to never reunite.

The Smiths
The Replacements
Husker Du
The Clash
Pavement
Uncle Tupelo
Dead Milkmen

Tell me if you think another band should be on this list.

politics of fat

I was looking through my old unpublished Sad Salvation drafts to find a slate article about the politics of fat. I find it funny that it does not take about the media at all. Since the 1970s actresses have been becoming smaller and smaller. I think there is a connection.

Google Image Search limits

There is a story in the Mercury News today about Google losing lawsuit over nude photo links. The story is very interesting if you dig into it. The only reason the judge ruled against Google is because the other company, Perfect 10, has business deals to sell these images. If there was no business plan to sell these images, they would not be protected. This seems strange to me. I guess my copyrighted photos are not as important as other copyrighted photos because I am not selling them. I feel that is crappy.

The Official Shotgun Rules

When I saw the The Official Shotgun Rules I thought of senion week right way. We came up with all of these rules on our own. Now I wonder if some of our rules made this list.

Thanks Jeremy for this link.

Quick Question

Why do I only ever see men play chess in public?

There are a couple places in my area where people play chess. I never see women play. I know women play chess, I just never see them play in public. Is there a reason for this?

Icon Fun

I went out to buy a new thumb drive today. That mean that I needed to visit Icon Factory to find a good icon for it. I found some great Battlestar Galactica, Raiders of the Lost Arc, and Kill Bill icons. I am going to use the BSG logo as my thumb drive icon. The icons on Icon factory are Optimized for Mac OS X, they still have Windows versions. I still think this is a cool site to check out.
