Blog Upkeep

I have a question for all the other bloggers out there: Do you go back and fix old links? I have been keeping this blog for almost four years now. I know lots of old posts have broken links. Is it worth my time and energy to go back and fix them? I am not sure if this is worth my time or not. I want to know what the other bloggers out there do.

Please tell me what you do on your blog.

23 and 33

I have been thinking about my past lately. I was thinking about the time when I just got out of college and move back home. I made a lot of bad choices between the ages of 23 and 25. The way I was living my life back then was just stupid. I was caught in a trap. I seemed to only do things that moved me deeper into that trap.

When I look back at that time, I have a hard time thinking of that person as me. It almost makes no sense to me. I know it is hard for people to find their way in this world. I am not unhappy at how long it took me.

I know that going through those things made me the person I am today. I know that there were some mistakes that I had to make to learn from. I wonder if everyone looks back on their life and feels this way. When I told a friend about this she told them that in another 10 years I will look back at being 33 and think the same thing.

google vids

Here are two other Google Video suggestions that Slacy sent me. I have not watched them yet. I would like to know if Sad Salvation's readers thing they are any good or not.

Google and underground video

Slacy left a link to Why I Love Shoplifting From Big Corporations as a comment to something I posted about the song Shop Lifters of the World. I just got around to watching this video. I really enjoy the video. It is a great short film. I think it is the perfect thing to watch over the web. That means it is perfect for Google Video.

This short movie has a punk rock ethic to it. I am not sure what the filmmaker did to actually make this movie. It is like a big middle finger to Walmart. I want to find more movies like this. I want to see what filmmakers are doing.

The main problem with Google Video is that I cannot find other videos like this. There is on way for me to say I like this, find me other content I will like. I want to find other movies like this. I could not find a good way to find videos that I did not know of before.

I am also a little upset that there is no Mac support for Google Video. I have to watch the videos on my crappy old laptop. Hey Mr. Google, we need some Mac Support over here.

A long time ago Francis Ford Coppola said that he hoped that the next great American filmmaker would be a 12-year-old girl with a camcorder. The promise of Google video is that might become true. Google Video can bring people video from way out on the long tail. The problem is that if every 12 year old girl goes out and makes videos, we will miss the one who is truly a genus. We will not have the time or the inclination to dig through them all to find her. We are not digging in Live Journal to find the people who can really write. We still need editors out there to pick out the good stuff. Doing it the Google way may not be enough.

Take me out to the ball game

Section CL234 Row I Seat 1
Originally uploaded by earthdog.

Yesterday I went to the Giants v. Phillies game with Fling93. It was my idea to go to the game. I try to see the Phillies every time they are in town. I do not go to many games every season, so I might as well make sure I see my team.

Fling93 and I sat in Antwon's seats on the Club Level. I have seen about 40 games at SBC Park. Sitting in the Club Level is still different then anywhere else in the park. It feels like I am at a luxury hotel, not a baseball game. There is something wrong about walking around on carpet at a baseball game. The seat are nice, but the club level does not have the same energy. People always seem more sedate. I got dirty looks a couple of times for rooting for the Phillies. That has never happened to be before at SBC Park.

I love the Phillies, but the problem is that they tend to lose every time they are in town. The lose every time I pay to see them. In the 10 games I have seen the Phillies play in California (8 in San Francisco, 1 in San Diego, 1 in Oakland) they have only won once. I am starting to wonder if I am the person causing them to lose. They also might be losing to spite me.

I still had a good time at the game. I always feel lucky when I get the chance to go to a baseball game. It is a great way to spend a night, even if my team loses.

Time is against me

I used to have all the time in the world. The problem is that I wasted most of that time. Now I am paying for wasting that time. I now not finding the time to get anything done. I think time is acting against me. I thinking it is getting back at me for wasting time before. It wants me to pay for what I did wrong. Now nothing is getting done.

Television bad guys

Here is a list of the big TV Badguys. I think the list is pretty funny. I am not sure if Mr. Burns really is a bad guy. I think he is just misunderstood. It is the system that make him bad.

I guess I will have to wait for the list of Big Blog Badguys before I show up.
