Tis the Season

As of right now, I my apartment is in 24/7 Christmas Music mode. If you come to my apartment between now and Christmas Music. I have done this in the past, so I understand the right way to do it. Here are my Christmas Music treat so it is not torture.

  • Quantity Matters - I have about 13 hours of Christmas music on iTunes. I only hear each song once or twice a day.
  • Variety Matters - I have about 30% Traditional, 30% Jazz, 30% Rock, and 10% Novelity. It keeps things fresh.
  • Time Matters - Never start right after Thanksgiving. I wait for a week before Christmas before I start.

I will admit that the worst song I have is Frosty The Snowman by the Brady Bunch. The song is just Susan Olsen trying to sound cute.

  • Missing the Cold

Around Christmas I miss the cold. There is something special about a chill in the air. I was in a bad mood the other night and want I wanted to do was take a walk in the cold air. That always made me a little more in tough with myself. The old air would offset that moment of depression. I miss not having it from time to time. This year seems to be the worst.

There is something uplifting about a cup of hot chocolate really warming you up. The feeling of frostbite on your cheeks can let you know where you stand in this world. From time to time these feelings would do me well.

I do not miss this weather in February or March. Then I just want it to be warm.

I did not see this coming

The Bush administration will have to claim Libya to dismantle WMD programs as a win. There is no way that Dean will be able to say this does not make America safer. It will be interesting to see if Bush can capitalize on it.

End of Year Mix CD Challenge Update

I am finished making my mix for the End Of Year Mix CD challenge. I have still only received two mixes. I expect to receive mixes from at least four other people. Once I have a few more, I will start posting the results here.

What excites me is listening to my friends mixes. The songs say something about the way we view music. I can hear it from just listening to Eric's mix. I cannot want to hear more of the CDs that people make. Next week I will start posting the song lists.

    Not So Fast RIAA

In the case between the RIAA and Verizon a judge has told the RIAA their arguments borders upon the silly.

    2004 project idea

    Picture-a-day

I want to take a photograph everyday in 2004. At the end of each month I want to make a mosaic of the best picture I took each day. At the end of the year I will have a mosaic of a whole year.

I really like digital photography. I feel that I can take pictures without worrying about my usual weaknesses. It is easy to take 50 or 60 pictures without blinking. I rarely want the pictures in a non electronic format. I also think this will push me to try to get out of apartment and go more places.

    Voting with your dollars

The old saying is "there is no free lunch." Some times that means that Someone else is making up the difference.

    Strange toys

I am not sure how I feel about these action figures. There is something a little creepy about it.

    Pre-Jailhouse conversion

I cannot see Michael Jackson in the NoI.

The company that makes this sued my friend.

Just remember to think twice before buying CD gifts.

Maybe next year I will only buy RIAA free CDs.

    Stolen from Mark

    Five Golden Rings

Here is your 12 days of Christmas Index.

    Jack's Angry Spline

I have said before that the H2 makes me want to go fight club. I am going to have to take a picture and sent it to FUH2.

    More proof everyone hates Powerpoint

Microsoft Powerpoint fingered in space shuttle crash.

    100 Years of Air Flight

A hundred years ago the Wright Brothers made the first powered flight. I am still amazed at what they did. It is an achievement that really set the stage for the 20th Century.

I am a little disappointed that the re-enactment failed. It proves how good the Wright Brothers really were.

medicinal marijuana users wins this one

The federal court upholds the rights of people to use medical marijuana. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

I am not even sure the people in the back of this line even Know what they are in line for.

    What Will Jon Say?

Everyone knows that the US Army found Saddam Hussein. I cannot wait to hear what they say on the Daily Show about this.

A friend of mine was upset when he heard this. He is happy that Saddam Hussein is captured, but he is worried that it will only add legitimacy to the way the Bush Administration has handled Iraq. I am not surprised that people who do not like Bush would react this way.

    Book stores are not libraries

I am not sure it is fare to compare amazon.com v. Libraries. They really have different ideas involved. It is still a funny website.

    More Fun College Classes

I would have kicked ass in Yesology when I was in college.

    Sundays

Today has been a long day. I watched football, went to my writing group, did some shopping, went to a Survivor party, balanced the checkbook. It does not seem like a lot, but it took up my whole day.
