Time is not my friend

I keep on forgetting that time is not my friend. Time will not wait around and wait for me to make up my mind. It will not sit by the phone waiting for me to call. It will not stand still as I try to work out ideas in my head.

Time moves along with no regard for anything I care about. It wears down with world with wind and erosion. It moves if we are watching or not.

A friend of mine talked told me that he has learned on thing as a father. In all things days are long and years are short. Find this to be a powerful view of the world. I feel like the last four years have been really long and really short at the same time. It feels like I have been at my job for a really long time, but that time just flies by.

I have to realize that there are better ways for me to use my time. I have to use my time in ways that make me happy. That is not always the easiest thing.

The A List

I received an invitation to a wedding in the mail today. I have been talking to the groom about this wedding for almost a year now. Because money is tight, he has been worrying about the guess list. He gave me the rundown of how you make a wedding list.

the A List, the people they could not have the wedding without,
the B List, the people that they want to invite but might not be enough space
the C List, people they would invite if money was no object.

The said the best thing is that after the invitations go out, everyone who gets one was on the A List. I am happy to see I made the list at all.

Places

What places stick in your mind? In that moment before you are about to draw a blank, what places do you see? When your mind wanders, where does it go? I think about this from time to time because I know where my mind goes. I will see a flash of a place I have not been for years. My minds eye will be focused on a side street, back alley, parking lot, or lot that is of no real importance.

I have the idea that I still exist in these places. I know that these places hold no trace of me. There is no imprint from my days there. No evidence that I ever visited them. I still am there anyway. The question is if I am still there does that hold me back from moving forward in my life or does it just root me in the world?

Work Idea

Today the project that I have been working on for the past 8 months or so, has finally been released. Working in customer support, that means that I am not done working on it. It will be a while before I can detach myself from it all together. It just feels good to have it in the hands of the public.
