Blogs of Interest

When I read a blog, links are not enough. I want to see what people think about what they see. That is the story that a blog should be telling. I need more then just people pointing at interesting things.

The blog Dispatches is thick with content. I have an idea how this guy thinks. I do not agree with all of it, but is still interesting to read.

Return of the Super Karate Monkey Fist

I have given new life to SuperKarateMonkeyFist.com. (You should see the looks I get when I tell people I own that domain.) I have decided to turn it into a song-a-day weblog. The idea is simple, everyday I post a song that I like. People can download the MP3 file that I post. The idea is that I am trying to say something about my life by the songs I am posting. I hope I am actually saying something worth reading.

Right now I am in the middle of the 12 Songs Of Christmas. They are the best Christmas songs I could get my hands on in short notice. I think it is worth checking out.

Searching for something

I am not happy with the idea that I will have to Leave my check luggage unlocked. I do not lock my luggage because I am worried about things being stolen. I do it so my bags do not pop open. I guess I will have to not over stuff my luggage this year.

Tools

I love cool internet tools. Domain Surfer is one of the coolest I have found in a while. You can search for all the website domain names with a word in it. I found this looking for domains with TiVo in the name. It is interesting to see what people have registered. You can even do a search for your own name. It is like a new kind of ego surfing.

Thoughts of Love IV

Gerry says, "It should be easier for us now."

I have know Gerry almost all my life. We have been friends though grade school, boy scouts, high school, college, post college, and into our 'real' lives. I can say that I have know him a long time. Neither of us have a long history of great relationships.

He thinks that we have there upper hand now that we have passed 30. There are fewer and fewer available men out there. We are going to start looking better and better as we get older.

I am not sure I believe that. It might be true for Gerry. I think that he is at his peek at 30. He is in better shape then ever before in his life, Condo near the beach, and has some cash to kick around. I am not sure that my appeal is on the same level as that.

I hope that Gerry is right. I want to be seen as a better catch now that I was in the past. I just do not know if women will see it that way. I just wish I had a good way to figure it out.

I just feel odd when I see newspaper stories about How to buy a digital video recorder. Makes me feel like I am not working on the edge anymore. I still do not know if people get or not.

Here is the priciest places in America to live. I am surprised that Danville is the only town in the bay area on the list. My guess is that Silicon Valley has the highest cost for crappy apartments.

New Face

I shaved at Thanksgiving. I shaved off my mustache and jazz spot. I thought it was just time for a chance. It has been over a year since I trimmed off the mustache. I was surprised at how many comments I got from coworkers. Half of the people noticed I changed something, but they could not tell what. The other half were really surpised that I cut it off. Even a couple of weeks later I am still getting comments from people.

I am just surpised at people's reaction. I am happy that people notice, but I wonder what they think about my face in the first place. A woman told me I look ten years younger. How old did I look with a mustache? I am not sure which is really a better look for me. I really like the mustache, but it seems that more people like my face without it.

I think I am going to stay clean shaven until the new year. I will decide what to do after that.
